The Linden Room (401) 555-0162

A daytime cafe on Wickenden Street, open from seven until three.

We make coffee, eggs, soup, a pie that changes with the week and a cardamom roll that does not. There is a long table for people who came alone, a shelf of newspapers, and a patio out back where dogs are welcome. Order at the counter and we bring it over.

We opened in the spring of 2019 in what used to be a frame shop, and kept the floor, the window and the name on the transom.

Where we are

214 Wickenden Street
Providence, Rhode Island 02903

We are on the north side of the street between Brook and Hope, two doors down from the bookshop. Street parking is free for two hours, and the lot behind the bank on the corner is free on weekends.

From downtown it is a fifteen-minute walk along South Water Street, or the bus that stops at Wickenden and Brook. Bike racks are out front.
